Kathmandu
The last city, after dark
One flight in – but past it, a month with no signal.
Where have you worked?
Ten years in tech – startups across Asia, Europe, the UK and the US. In every one I ended up close to the product, which is where you learn what actually matters.

higher
Some of it you climb.
Hands and feet, one hold at a time.
What do you miss in Slovakia?
That someone else decides what your surroundings look like. So here you show it first – and when enough people want the same thing, it stops being just a wish. What happens to the idea is the city’s call. You just have to stop and look around.

2,700 m
Above the clouds
Up here, the sky really is the limit.
How do you switch off?
Pretty much anything. Sky is the limit.

What would help you most at work?
If minds could be read.

the work
A school, stone by stone
Every wall carried, mixed and set by hand.
What opens doors?
Tatra Tea 72% – in the Himalayas it genuinely got us to the nicest spots.

the place
The valley that held the village
Hundreds of homes, clinging to the green.
The hardest part of the day?
When the kids won’t sleep and scream through the flat – and a new release has to go out.

Your best day?
The wedding – and the honeymoon right after.

off the grid
Where we slept
A tent, a sleeping bag, zero notifications.
Your worst day?
When a car rolled over my backpack with three MacBooks in it.

no power
Nights lit by fire
When the sun drops, the camp glows.
What do you never want to regret?
That I was too afraid to try.

And your ego?
I’ve taken a few slaps. I keep my feet on the ground.

Your biggest blunder?
Let’s leave that one. It was life-or-death.

the pass
Prayer flags in the wind
Other people’s wishes, strung between peaks.
The best reward?
Success, sure… but also a steak and a beer after 2,000 kcal.

all or nothing
You walk back down a different person
A school built, a film shot – a year measured differently.
Who pays the bills?
I pay for the servers.
And if we meet?
Catch me somewhere in town? Stop me – I am always glad to talk about the city.
